I believe a community is reflected by the children of that community.  Following that belief, I ask myself the question, “How are the children?”

In my vision for the future, the answer will be ... “The children are fine.”

They are born into supportive environments where adults prepare them to learn and grow; giving them every chance to succeed and become productive citizens.

These supportive environments must include every citizen being committed to making Pueblo County the best place in the country to raise children.  A community culture focused on attracting new businesses, providing jobs, maintaining our infrastructure, and changing the metrics of poverty, homelessness, graduation rates, teen pregnancy and dependence on entitlement programs.  

I believe this vision can be accomplished through partnerships, created between our citizens, businesses and government, keeping the answer to the question always in their sights … “The children are fine.”

It will take many years of constant, unwavering leadership at all levels to reach this vision.  The commitment to this vision must start now, with everyone working together for Pueblo County to flourish in the future.
